About the role
Madison is excited to be recruiting a full time Law Clerk position with a general practice firm who pride themselves on continuously updating and improving their professional knowledge.

Our client is a general practice firm that provides a range of services within Commercial, Criminal, Family, Civil litigation, and Employment Law – giving you the exposure you need to build a long-term career in path.
Day to day responsibilities:

  • Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research using various resources such as online databases, case law, statutes, and legal literature.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in drafting legal documents and ensure accuracy and adherence to formatting and procedural requirements.
  • Case Management: Organise and maintain case files, documents, and correspondence. Coordinate with Solicitors to manage case deadlines, court appearances, and filings. Track the progress of cases and update relevant parties as necessary.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gather information, schedule appointments, and provide case updates. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to Solicitors and legal staff, including answering phones, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars. Assist with billing, invoicing, and other administrative tasks as needed.

About you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualities:

  • Must have a New Zealand Law Degree or a relevant qualification.
  • A positive approach and a “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Capable of working autonomously and demonstrate independent problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Fluency in Mandarin would be advantageous but is not a compulsory requirement
