Professional Practice Lead

Job description

We are looking for an extraordinary social sector superstar to take on a fast paced Professional Practice Lead role. This role requires an engaged and passionate individual who holds an associated annual practising certificate who is looking for community sector focused role within a large government organisation.


Key Points

  • Must have an Annual Practicing Certificate or be elligible for one 
  • ASAP Start date – December 2024
  • $60 per hour +8% Holiday pay

You will be responsible for:

  • Support inclusivity and adaptability in every aspect of  work.
  • Lead the implementation of operational practice (He Kahu Waiora) for the Storm Recovery Navigator Service.
  • Lead the implementation of Whakawhiti Kōrero – our suite of reflective and developmental conversations.
  • Support professional practice with individual Navigators and place-based teams on operational practice, procedure either directly or through a train-the-trainer approach.
  • Support the Storm Recovery Navigation leadership team in their development of platforms and pathways to influence service improvements.
  • Advise on and deliver operational practice guidelines, procedures for the service.
  • Support projects aligned with the Storm Recovery Navigator Service
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and policies that make up the landscape in which the team operates.
  • Provide advice on best and emergent practices to enhance the Storm Recovery Navigator Service.
  • Keep abreast of contemporary social recovery approaches and interventions that contribute to the team’s success.
  • Support navigators with case escalations from a social work practice lens
  • Promote the team’s continuous improvement by providing advice on performance, procedures, and practices to aid in on-going improvement.

About you:

  • Confident with Te Ao Māori
  • Has a qualification in social work, health, teaching or other relevant fields.
  • Has proven experience in the development and implementation of operational practice advice, tools, and guidance.
  • Ability to train, iterate and proven ability in innovation and evidence-based practices.
  • Willingness and ability to take the initiative in identifying and when agreed leading work in emerging areas of importance to the services purpose.
  • Excellent public speaking, facilitating, influencing, advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Highly collaborative with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise competing priorities and provide sounds advice in complex, multi-party situations.
  • Effective time management, focusing on critical activities.
  • Ability to act with clairity and purpose in problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
