About the Company:
Our client, a leading company in automotive parts, is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence and strategic growth within a dynamic and innovative organisation.
 
The Role:
As the Financial Controller, you will play an essential role in the business, responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cash flow management, risk and compliance, and leading a small team of finance professionals. Your strategic input will be crucial in supporting the company’s long-term goals and ensuring financial stability.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Lead the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reports. Manage cash flow, debtors, and creditors to ensure the company meets its financial obligations and strategic targets.
  • Leadership: Actively participate in the senior leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of business strategies. Provide mentorship and guidance to your team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Business Support: Implement and maintain systems and processes to support business operations. Ensure all financial metrics and reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Risk & Compliance: Develop and manage the company’s risk profile, ensuring comprehensive mitigation plans are in place. Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a collaborative finance team, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel. Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations within the team.

 
About You:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial management and leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting and Accounting Standards, with a working knowledge of NZ Employment Law, Income Tax Act, and Companies Act.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading successful teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation.
