There has been a general increase in reported scams targeting job seekers, including messages sent via WhatsApp and Facebook, and job postings on New Zealand job boards from individuals impersonating recruiters. We encourage you to be vigilant with any communication of this nature across all social media and online platforms.
Keeping your information secure online is important, as is being ‘scam savvy’. Online scams are one way that individuals manipulate or trick people into giving away their personal details, financial details, or money. For more information about how to protect yourself, check out Own Your Online, the government-led cyber security initiative with helpful tools and resources.
So you know what to expect, here’s how Madison communicates with job seekers:
If you’re unsure whether you’re being contacted by a real Madison employee, you can use the Our Team page to find your consultant’s contact details, or call one of our branches listed on our Contact Us page.
You can also report an incident or suspected scam to the National Cyber Security Centre. To report a cyber security issue, use their online tool which you can find here. This needs to come from you – we cannot report this on your behalf.
