Duties and Responsibilities:
As a BAS Accountant, your responsibilities could include the following:

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Advise clients on accounting systems and training
  • Prepare and manage multiple accounts at one time
  • Prepare financial statements for all types of entities
  • Complete tax returns and tax planning
  • Preparation of dividend distributions and DWT returns, and filing with IRD
  • Support junior staff with account queries
  • Review workpaper files/ financial statements for intermediate staff
  • Prepare cashflow forecast and financial hardship
  • Complete statistic NZ returns, surveys, and other mandatory obligations on behalf of clients
  • Register clients for tax types as required
  • Liaise with IRD to resolve queries regarding returns filed 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Public Practice
  • Experience providing business advisory services to a range of clients
  • A strong level of technical accounting and tax knowledge
  • A strong understanding of local/ country-specific laws and regulations
  • CA/ CPA qualified (or equivalent)
