Recovery Navigator

Looking to support your community?  As a Recovery Navigator you will be working within a large multi-level government organisation, supporting whānau affected by extreme weather events.  We have positions based in West, south and North Auckland however you will be working across the city as necessary. Working with one of Auckland’s largest organisations with a focus on Te ao Māori this is a highly rewarding role where you will be making a significant difference to your community. 

About the role 

  • Asap Start 
  • Auckland wide locations 
  • $40 per hour + 8% Holiday Pay 

Daily Tasks

  • Communicating with whānau affected by the floods
  • Providing in depth knowledge on support services available via the phone and through face to face interaction. 
  • Connect with individuals and whānau throughout their journey to review the progress of their recovery plan as required.
  • Attend community meetings/briefings as requested and be responsive to the emerging needs of the affected households; identify gaps in service delivery and ensure households receive the most up to date information relevant to their situation.
  • Maintain accurate case notes/recovery plan recording in database and prepare letters and reports in accordance with requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as the affected communities charitable organisations, community groups, clubs and NGOs, health providers and social service agencies, legal advisors and council departments such as building consents

About You: 

  • Relevant Qualification in social care, legal or policy.
  • Passionate about community support
  • Experience and passion working with Te ao Māori.
  • Resilient and compassionate
  • Can start asap. 
  • Tech Savy
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence
  • Saleforce experience preferable
