Job description
Our client is looking for a Groundsperson to join their property maintenance team on a permanent, full-time basis. They have a cohesive and talented team of fantastic people who work really well together to ensure this very large and diverse property is presented and functioning at a high standard at all times. This is a busy role where there will be no shortage of tasks to be completed, and whilst some aspects will be seasonally-driven, there is plenty to keep you pottering away all day long.
Key responsibilities will range from the ongoing maintenance of ornamental gardens that decorate multiple residences on the property, to the taming of beautiful native bushes that border the properties, planting new gardens, and potentially a small amount of work in the vast organic vege gardens. You will also be involved with the property team to deliver new projects on-site.
It is expected that you will be physically fit & able, have a strong work ethic and be a true team player, whilst also being comfortable working alone for long periods during the day as you chip away at different locations on the property. You will be provided with all of the necessary tools & PPE to do your job safely, and support & training will be provided so that you are clear on the expectations and standards required on the property. You might have a background in Horticulture, but that’s not compulsory – we do need you to know the difference between a noxious weed and one that can stay though! Being passionate & knowledgeable about organic & holistic gardening is preferred.
What’s in if for you? This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves to be outdoors, wants to work in the beautiful & serene South Wairarapa, and values being part of a team that is enjoyable to be around. This is a unique property and there is some fun to be had on the side also. So if job security, a wonderful culture and plenty of variety are important to you then this could be just the role you’re looking for – the team love working here for so many reasons, and they all work together to achieve an environment they can be proud of.
Days/ Hours: Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 4.00pm
Location: South Wairarapa. Because of this, you need to have a reliable vehicle and clean drivers’ licence to get to and from work. You must have the right to live & work in NZ.
If you are interested, please apply with your current CV and a cover letter outlining why you think you’d be the right fit. APPLY TODAY. We will be reviewing applications as they are received.
