About the Client:
Our client, based in the South Wairarapa, are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Head Housekeeper to lead their housekeeping team and ensure a clean, well-maintained, and inviting environment for the owners.
Job Summary:
The Head Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This role ensures that the cleanliness, appearance, and maintenance of the houses meet the established standards. The Head Housekeeper supervises housekeeping staff, manages cleaning schedules, and ensures that the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved through exceptional cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the housekeeping staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and address any issues promptly.
- Train, coach, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver top-tier service.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring the housekeeping department is well-stocked.
- Implement and monitor health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget, optimizing resources and controlling costs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a housekeeping or hotel management role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and best practices.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in housekeeping.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
