An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the group finance function, based in a central Auckland CBD location. The Opportunity:

Reporting to a charismatic and well-loved Finance Manager (who is a registered CA mentor), this role offers wide exposure across financial accounting and group reporting activities. You’ll be involved in the month‑end process, statutory reporting support, reconciliations, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with data, systems, and people, combining technical accounting, strong Excel capability, and clear communication in a listed environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Month‑end close, journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Weekly and monthly reporting across revenue and costs
• Bank, payroll, intercompany, and clearing account reconciliations
• GST, FBT, and statutory reporting support
• Variance analysis and financial commentary
• Fixed asset maintenance and depreciation
• Supporting budgeting, audit, and year‑end processes
• Acting as a finance support partner to operational and corporate stakeholders
• Continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and reporting

About You:

• Degree‑qualified in Accounting or Commerce
• Approximately 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
• Actively working towards or planning to commence CA qualification
• Strong MS Excel capability including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis (Excel competency will be tested as part of the interview process)
• Solid experience using accounting software or ERP systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
• High attention to detail, well organised, and commercially curious
