Senior Advisor

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to play a key role in supporting high-level strategic and operational deliverables that directly impact public health outcomes in Aotearoa. This is a pivotal opportunity to work closely with the Chief Advisor and senior leadership on work of national importance.

About the role; 

In this role, you’ll provide senior-level advice and deliverables in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. You’ll be responsible for drafting and reviewing ministerial briefings, executive actions, planning documents, and performance reporting. You’ll also support risk management and escalation processes, ensuring decision-makers are well-informed and equipped to act.

Key responsibilities;

  • Draft, review, and edit high-quality briefs, executive actions, memos, and talking points.
  • Prepare documentation for the Minister, National Director, and Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and annual planning processes.
  • Lead and support executive-level reporting, including Ministerial and operational performance reports.
  • Support risk reporting, monitoring, and escalation.
  • Provide clear, timely, and evidence-based advice to senior stakeholders.

About you; 

We’re looking for someone with proven experience at a senior advisory level in a government or ideallypublic health context. You’ll have excellent written communication skills and the ability to structure complex information using storylining techniques that make key messages clear, accurate, and compelling. You’ll be confident navigating complex organisations, managing competing priorities, and working to tight timeframes.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in senior advisory roles in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of executive-level communications and reporting.
  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated experience in storylining and executive messaging.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
