Executive Clinical Director

We are seeking a values‑driven clinical executive with strong nursing leadership, systems thinking, and governance capability to lead a multidisciplinary clinical portfolio at executive level.

This pivotal role holds organisation‑wide accountability for the quality, safety, equity, performance, and sustainability of clinical services, providing strategic oversight across medical, nursing, community, and family support functions.

A core focus is strengthening a nurse‑led, multidisciplinary model of care, bringing teams together into a cohesive and integrated approach.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the role serves as the principal clinical voice at executive and Board level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and lead a future‑focused, organisation‑wide model of care
  • Provide executive accountability for clinical governance, quality, safety, and risk, including Board‑level assurance
  • Lead and support senior clinical leaders across multidisciplinary services
  • Drive change, integration, and continuous improvement in complex environments
  • Provide executive oversight of clinical operations and productivity
  • Embed equity and cultural responsibilities across clinical practice, service design, and performance frameworks
  • Represent the organisation in relevant regional and sector forums

You will bring

  • Registration as a senior health professional
  • Experience operating in executive or senior clinical leadership roles within complex health or community environments
  • Well-established expertise in clinical governance, quality systems, and service redesign
  • Demonstrated ability to lead confidently through change and uncertainty
  • A clear commitment to equity, cultural safety, and inclusive care practices
  • Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills

This organisation operates within a predominantly nurse‑led model of care. Applicants from other senior clinical backgrounds are welcome; advanced nursing leadership will be highly regarded.
