Are you mechanically minded, safety-focused, and eager to learn? Hexion is looking for a Trainee Chemical Process Operator (TCPO) to join our Hornby manufacturing team.
 
This position is designed to develop the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience required to become a qualified Chemical Process Operator. Working alongside experienced mentors and trainers, you’ll gain exposure to advanced manufacturing processes while building a long-term career in the chemical industry.
 
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Trainee Chemical Process Operator, you will:

  • Learn how to safely operate chemical manufacturing processes
  • Assist with resin and formaldehyde production under supervision
  • Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, product load-out, and routine operations
  • Monitor equipment and process conditions
  • Complete process sampling, testing, and production activities
  • Participate in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, and training programmes
  • Maintain accurate production records and quality standards
  • Contribute to housekeeping, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively within a high-performing shift

  • The ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Secondary school education or equivalent

Desirable Experience
While not essential, we would love to hear from candidates with:

  • Manufacturing or chemical processing experience
  • Mechanical fitting experience
  • Engineering or process-related qualifications
  • Current First Aid Certificate
