Are you mechanically minded, safety-focused, and eager to learn? Hexion is looking for a Trainee Chemical Process Operator (TCPO) to join our Hornby manufacturing team.
This position is designed to develop the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience required to become a qualified Chemical Process Operator. Working alongside experienced mentors and trainers, you’ll gain exposure to advanced manufacturing processes while building a long-term career in the chemical industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Trainee Chemical Process Operator, you will:
- Learn how to safely operate chemical manufacturing processes
- Assist with resin and formaldehyde production under supervision
- Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, product load-out, and routine operations
- Monitor equipment and process conditions
- Complete process sampling, testing, and production activities
- Participate in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, and training programmes
- Maintain accurate production records and quality standards
- Contribute to housekeeping, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement activities
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing shift

- The ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts
- Secondary school education or equivalent
Desirable Experience
While not essential, we would love to hear from candidates with:
- Manufacturing or chemical processing experience
- Mechanical fitting experience
- Engineering or process-related qualifications
- Current First Aid Certificate
