National Sponsorship and Events Manager

About the Role

We’re looking for a National Sponsorship and Events Manager for 3 months to step in and lead sponsorship and events activity during a key transition period. Based in Grafton, Auckland (hybrid), leading a small team of 2 direct reports, you’ll partner with senior stakeholders to maintain momentum across national programmes, while also progressing early-stage planning for major 2027 events.

Key Focus (Next 3 Months):

Events (main priority):

  • Delivery of a key Queenstown event (including onsite management)
  • Oversee national events and ongoing online webinar planning
  • Manage end-to-end planning, logistics, and stakeholder coordination – ensuring smooth delivery
  • Manage speakers, venues, suppliers, and event-day execution (including early starts and late finishes where required)

2027 planning (active now):

  • Provide support and development for Forum (March 2027)
  • Contribute to annual conference planning for 2027 (work already underway)

Sponsorship (smaller split, strategic support):

  • Provide strategic support across sponsorships and key partners
  • Support the Sponsorship Manager with the portfolio
  • Participate in sponsor WIPs
  • Provide input into two new potential sponsors currently in progress

Travel & Hours

  • Some domestic travel expected over the assignment:
    • Queenstown (possibly 4 days)
    • Wellington (possibly 2 days)
  • Flexibility required for event timings, including potential:
    • Early starts (e.g., 7:00am breakfast events)
    • Late finishes (e.g., 7:30pm finish in Auckland)

Responsibilities

  • Lead national events and webinar delivery (primary focus)
  • Manage and coach two direct reports
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and priorities across the organisation
  • Maintain momentum and ensure continuity during leadership transition
  • Support sponsor renewals and key partner relationships (strategic support)

About You

  • Proven leadership across events (and working knowledge of sponsorship operations)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-visibility environments
  • Able to start from 7th September 2026

What’s on Offer

  • $60-65 per hour
  • 3-month contract (potential to go permanent)
  • Auckland based – Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days WFH
