Digital Publishing Content Curator

Are you highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working with digital content and technology?

Our client is looking for a Digital Publishing Content Curator to join their publishing and production team in Hamilton. This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of science educational publishing content across websites, digital platforms, eBooks, PDFs and other digital formats. The nature of this role requires you to be full time in the office.
You’ll work at the final stages of the publishing process, helping ensure approved content is accurately converted, checked and released across our digital channels.
This could be a great opportunity for a graduate or early-career candidate, particularly someone with a science background who enjoys combining technology, publishing and problem-solving.

What you will be doing
You’ll help coordinate the digital production and release of multiple publications and resources, including:

  • Preparing and delivering content from the publishing team for websites, digital platforms, eBooks, PDFs and other formats
  • Checking digital outputs for missing content, formatting issues, broken links, images, navigation and reading order
  • Carrying out pre-release quality checks and maintaining clear records of issues and fixes
  • Investigating reported content issues and coordinating their resolution
  • Making approved minor corrections to digital content
  • Supporting HTML and PDF generation, conversion and post-processing
  • Coordinating the conversion of InDesign outputs into digital formats
  • Managing online content, resources and associated records
  • Tracking publication progress across multiple titles and platforms
  • Coordinating and communicating release schedules
  • Keeping workflow information up to date across publishing, production and technical teams
  • Maintaining version control
  • Helping ensure consistency between print and digital editions

About you
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. Training and support will be provided.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple pieces of work
  • The ability to investigate problems and clearly document what you’ve found
  • Confidence learning and working across different digital systems
  • Good written communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with publishing, production and technical colleagues
  • A general knowledge of, qualification in, or interest in science

Experience in any of the following would be useful, but isn’t essential:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign
  • Content management systems
  • Digital publishing or publishing production
  • Excel or Google Sheets
  • HTML
  • XML or Markdown
  • PDFs and eBooks/EPUB
  • Digital accessibility
  • Issue tracking or digital content administration

You might be a science graduate with strong digital skills, someone at the beginning of a publishing career, or an early-career coordinator looking for a role that combines publishing, technology and quality assurance.
Previous commercial experience would be an advantage, but attention to detail and willingness to learn are just as important.

Why join?
You’ll join a collaborative team working at the intersection of science, education, publishing and technology.
It’s an opportunity to develop practical digital publishing skills while working on real products used by customers around the world.
If you’re organised, curious and have a sharp eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.
