Mō te tūnga | About the Role
We are looking for a collaborative, innovative, engaging, and people-focused individual to step into the role of People, Capability, and Culture Manager. This part-time position, (0.5FTE), reports directly to the Chief Executive. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, staff, and volunteer welfare, and ensure a high level of accuracy in payroll administration. This role also involves collaborating closely with our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and contributing to strategies that enhance Zealandia’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori (the Māori world). Your leadership will play a key part in achieving our long-term vision for nature restoration by creating a supportive, inclusive, and culturally aware workplace.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced People, Capability, and Culture professional who can lead with empathy and expertise. You will have:
A degree-level qualification in Human Resources or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources management, with a good understanding of New Zealand employment law. Experience working with volunteers is an advantage. Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the organisation. A collaborative and approachable leadership style, with excellent organisational and planning skills. A commitment to enhancing a diverse and inclusive workplace, and a passion for integrating tikanga Māori into workplace practices.
