We’re currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance team on a 3–4 month fixed-term contract.
This is a backfill role while a major systems implementation is underway—ideal for a confident, technically strong accountant who can hit the ground running.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of core financial reporting functions and provide expert support across management reporting, statutory reporting, and financial control. This is a hands-on role where you’ll also mentor junior team members and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting and performance analysis
- Lead financial control processes including month-end close, balance sheet reviews, and reconciliations
- Provide decision support to internal stakeholders and senior management
- Support capital expenditure reporting, IFRS compliance, and external audits
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial projects
- Drive reporting improvements and support ongoing process enhancements
What You’ll Bring:
- CA qualified (or equivalent) with a relevant tertiary degree
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial reporting role
- Strong technical accounting skills with working knowledge of NZ IFRS
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Proficiency with Excel and financial systems
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
