Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:

Be a part of Otago’s transformation on landmark rebuild and commercial projects. You’ll be a part of looking after multi-million-dollar budgets, involved in claims and extensions, helping to shape tender strategies and deliver on-site cost insights – all within a safety-focused, innovation-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget: You will be helping to establish, track and optimise project budgets and forecasts
  • Claims: Prepare progress/ final claims, help manage EOT submissions and implement proactive cost-control measures
  • Tender Influence: Collaborate on pre- and post-tender estimates, value-engineering proposals and commercial evaluations
  • On-Site Insights: Be part of conducting detailed cost studies on active sites and provide actionable recommendations to site teams
  • Strategic Reporting: Provide information to help produce clear financial analyses that guide leadership decision-making and keep projects on track

Candidate Profile:

  • 3–5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience with a New Zealand main contractor, consistently delivering on challenging budgets
  • Sharp negotiation skills, creative cost-saving solutions and a strong eye for value engineering
  • Hands-on with CostX, Candy or similar cost-management software
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys being part of a team, sharing best practices and helping to drive continuous improvement
  • Based in Christchurch with full NZ work rights and immediate availability
