We’re working with a well-established global insurer to recruit Insurance Sales Consultants to join their Wellington team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys talking with people, takes pride in doing things properly, and is looking to build a stable, long-term career. You’ll receive thorough training, ongoing guidance, and the chance to develop valuable skills.
What you’ll be doing:
- Calling through a daily list of warm and qualified leads
- Following a structured conversation framework (training provided)
- Helping customers understand and choose from:
- Life insurance
- Critical illness cover
- Income and expense protection
- Supporting customers through the full application process
- Handling sensitive information with care and accuracy
- Keeping records up to date in the system
- Following up on previous conversations when needed
What your week will look like:
- Mostly outbound calls, with some (very minimal) inbound enquiries
- Mondays tend to be busier, with a steady flow across the rest of the week
- Working through new leads first, with shared team follow-ups after
- Rotating shifts that change every 2 months (generally between 8am–7pm)
Once you’re fully comfortable in the role, there is an opportunity to work from home up to two days per week. To be fully comfortable in the role it takes on average around 6 months.
What’s on offer
- Base salary of $65,000
- Uncapped commission on top
- KiwiSaver contributions
- Health and life insurance benefits
- Staff discounts
- Recognition and small team celebrations
Training and development: You’ll be set up for success from the start with a 3-week induction programme, including:
- Facilitated learning sessions
- Online modules
- Practical roleplay and support
From there, you’ll continue to receive regular coaching and guidance. There are also opportunities to work towards industry qualifications and explore different career paths internally over time.
You might be a good fit if you:
- Are someone who is thoughtful, reliable, and enjoys working toward clear goals.
- Have at least 18 months’ work experience (customer service or sales is helpful)
- Take care and pride in accuracy and detail
- Feel comfortable speaking with a wide range of people
- Can stay positive, even when conversations don’t always go your way
- Prefer structure and clear expectations in your work
- Are motivated to learn and improve over time
A few things to be aware of: This role involves following clear processes and meeting compliance requirements, so attention to detail really matters. You’ll also have days that feel more rewarding than others, that’s natural in a sales environment, but you’ll have support around you as you build confidence.
Why people enjoy working here:
- Supportive team environment
- Strong focus on training and development
- A well-respected global brand behind you
- A culture that values doing things the right way
If you’re looking for a role where you can develop skills, build confidence, and work toward something long-term, we’d love to hear from you.
