Site Maintenance Engineer 6-Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to support a large-scale manufacturing operation in Mount Maunganui.
This hands-on contract role will lead site maintenance activities, contractor management, shutdown planning, and asset reliability initiatives within a complex 24/7 production environment. You’ll work closely with site leadership to ensure equipment performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day maintenance activities and plant reliability
- Coordinate planned maintenance and shutdown programmes
- Lead contractor selection, engagement, and performance management
- Ensure equipment operates safely and in compliance with site and regulatory requirements
- Maintain maintenance systems, records, drawings, and asset documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency
- Prepare maintenance reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Manage small capital projects and site improvement activities
About You
- Engineering qualification (essential)
- Proven maintenance experience within manufacturing, industrial, processing, or production environments
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, asset reliability, and contractor management
- Sound knowledge of NZ health and safety requirements
- Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or Management of Change methodologies
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
