Site Maintenance Engineer 6-Month Contract 

We are seeking an experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to support a large-scale manufacturing operation in Mount Maunganui.

This hands-on contract role will lead site maintenance activities, contractor management, shutdown planning, and asset reliability initiatives within a complex 24/7 production environment. You’ll work closely with site leadership to ensure equipment performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities and plant reliability
  • Coordinate planned maintenance and shutdown programmes
  • Lead contractor selection, engagement, and performance management
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and in compliance with site and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain maintenance systems, records, drawings, and asset documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency
  • Prepare maintenance reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Manage small capital projects and site improvement activities 

About You

  • Engineering qualification (essential)
  • Proven maintenance experience within manufacturing, industrial, processing, or production environments
  • Strong understanding of maintenance systems, asset reliability, and contractor management
  • Sound knowledge of NZ health and safety requirements
  • Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or Management of Change methodologies
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
