We are seeking a highly organised and proactive professional to join a government organisation on a six-month temporary contract. This role will support senior leaders operating in a dynamic and high-profile environment, where sound judgement, strong relationship management skills, and a solid understanding of government processes are essential.

About the Role
As a trusted member of the support team, you will play a key role in ensuring senior leaders are well supported and able to meet organisational priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex and ever-changing diaries, calendars, and commitments for senior leaders.
- Coordinating meetings, events, briefings, and travel arrangements.
- Preparing agendas, organising meeting materials, and taking accurate minutes.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders across a range of levels and functions.
- Monitoring emerging issues, risks, and priorities to ensure leaders remain informed and prepared.
- Providing high-quality administrative support across recruitment, financial processing, and team activities.
- Managing confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Supporting the smooth operation of business support functions and contributing positively to team culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant
- Experience working within the New Zealand public sector.
- A strong understanding of government structures, processes, and the machinery of government.
- The ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong judgement, initiative, and the confidence to manage competing priorities independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- The ability to adapt quickly and remain calm under pressure.
