Madison Recruitment are exclusviely recruiting for an experienced and strategic Commercial Manager to join a large, complex New Zealand business for a 12-month parental leave cover.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior finance leadership role with real influence during an exciting time of change and integration.
You will report to the CFO and work closely with executive leadership, providing strategic financial direction, leading performance management, and driving commercial outcomes across a nationwide operation.
The role is based in Ellerslie and offers a dynamic blend of strategy, analysis, leadership, and execution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the commercial finance function across a multi-site operation
- Owning budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Developing robust financial models and investment business cases
- Supporting strategic decision-making and influencing key business outcomes
- Providing accurate, timely executive and board-level reporting
- Leading a small team and supporting wider finance capability uplift
- Playing a key role in business integration, systems transformation, and performance initiatives
- Ensuring financial governance and compliance with risk frameworks
- Partnering across the organisation to identify opportunities and manage performance
What we’re looking for:
- A commercially astute finance leader with 8+ years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering
- Strong technical capability in modelling, reporting, and performance management
- A strategic thinker who’s comfortable working with complex data and ambiguity
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop, inspire, and influence others
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with executive stakeholders
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualification
- A pragmatic, hands-on style, with resilience and high standards of accountability
- Previous experience in transformation or systems integration is a plus
