An established international construction contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to join a long‑term, high‑profile project in Tonga.This is a rare opportunity to gain hands‑on international experience on a high profilet build, working on site with an experienced delivery team.
The role is site‑based and will suit someone who enjoys being close to the action, is motivated by responsibility, and wants to accelerate their career through international project exposure.

The Opportunity
This position supports the day‑to‑day delivery of a major construction programme running through to early 2028. Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will play a key supporting role across site operations, reporting, stakeholder communication and commercial management.
Due to the confidential and high‑profile nature of the project, specific technical details will be shared during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day site operations, including coordination of field crews and subcontractors
  • Assist with programme delivery, short‑term planning and look‑ahead scheduling
  • Prepare and contribute to monthly progress reports (programme, cost, risk)
  • Support stakeholder communication, including client, consultant and internal reporting
  • Assist with budget tracking, cost control and cashflow management
  • Help resolve site issues, logistics and sequencing challenges in a remote project environment
  • Promote safe, organised and professional site practices

About You This role is suited to someone operating at Assistant PM or early‑to‑mid‑level PM stage, with responsibilities tailored to experience. 

You are likely to bring:

  • Experience in a main contractor or construction management environment
  • Exposure to site‑based project delivery
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with energy and drive
  • Willingness to work internationally and adapt to a Pacific Island project environment
  • Previous international or remote project experience is beneficial but not essential.
