An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and resilient Compliance Officer to join a specialist compliance team responsible for protecting the community and ensuring adherence to key legislation.
Role specifics:
- 40 hours per week, standard business hours
- $40ph + 8% holiday pay
- Temporary assignment: ASAP until December 2026
- Albany location
About the role:
The role involves a combination of office‑based work and field visits, requiring a proactive and dependable approach.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting site visits and inspections
- Preparing detailed reports, infringement notices, and compliance notices
- Managing a varied and busy workload with accuracy
- Undertake investigations on complex Resource Management and building Act breaches
- Engaging with members of the public
- Following established procedures and training requirements
About you:
- Experience in environmental or regulatory compliance (local government experience preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship‑building, and customer service skills
- Critical thinking abilities and strong prioritisation skills
- Current full NZ driver licence
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., environmental science, planning, law, compliance) preferred
This is a safety sensitive position; you will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug test if you are the preferred candidate.
