Christian Brown

I began my career as a corporate lawyer in a large New Zealand private practice firm. Like many others before me, I ‘fell’ into the recruitment world in 2009. I was drawn to the mission of the work, the pace, and the relationship focus, and found myself thriving in this sector. Since then, I’ve led numerous recruitment teams across a variety of industries, both here and in the UK.

My role as Chief Operating Officer covers two of our Accordant Group businesses; Absolute IT, and Madison Recruitment. I’m accountable for all aspects of our performance: profitability, brand, development, and people management.

Working across these businesses and in the recruitment sector is endlessly rewarding. We have the opportunity to innovate and use technology in interesting ways, but at its heart, the industry is human-centred. I feel lucky coming into work every day to lead our amazing teams, and I am passionate about creating a positive culture, and delivering great outcomes for both our clients, and our candidates.

Outside of work, you’ll find me chasing around after my two young kids, relaxing with friends, or occasionally on a golf course, mastering my slice.
