The Project and Change Manager plays a key role in providing strategic and practical project management and change management support for key projects associated with improving a Faculty’s financial sustainability.
The role entails assisting with the design and implementation of project change approach, coordinating stakeholder engagement and readiness activities, developing clear and consistent communications and supporting leaders to manage the adoption of new initiatives in a structured and consistent manner.
The role will support Faculty leadership in enabling consistent implementation across four departments within the Faculty. The role works closely with the Executive Stakeholders, Faculty Management, and Finance. This role needs to begin as soon as possible and has a 12 month duration to the contract. Hours of work are Monday to Friday for 7.5 hour per day, 37.5 hours per week.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Lead any required procurement in line with UC policy.
- Gather data for others ensuring it is in a digestible format and provide analysis where requested.
- Assist with the development of business cases, approval documentation and memorandum for senior members of staff within the organisation.
- Assess and manage change and project related risks and issues, and provide practical mitigation strategies to minimise negative impacts on project deliverables, timelines and implementation outcomes.
- Develop and mange effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the project.
- Design and deliver workshops, briefing sessions and practical guidance material to support others in understanding requirements, timelines and expectations.
Initial Key Projects:
- Current State Mapping of General Staff
- Faculty Strategic Plan Support
- Transition plan for Research Centres and Institutes
- Prepare Faculty Policies
Additional key projects will be defined during the term of the work.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in project and/or change management (complex environments a bonus)
- Strong communication skills – able to simplify complex information
- Confident working with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle priorities
- Experience with structured change approaches or engagement
- Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools (Power BI a bonus)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with governance, budgets or data is a plus
