Executive Support Manager to Chief Executive

Madison Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a large government agency to recruit an exceptional Executive Support Manager to the Chief Executive.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a nationally significant organisation, providing high-level support to a Chief Executive operating in a complex, fast-paced and highly visible environment. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will be a trusted partner, ensuring the Chief Executive is positioned for success through outstanding coordination, anticipation and executive support.
 
The position

More than a traditional executive support role, this position acts as an extension of the CE’s office. You’ll manage the flow of information, priorities, stakeholder engagements and logistics.
You will work closely with senior leaders to proactively identify risks, manage competing priorities and coordinate responses to emerging issues. Success in this role requires exceptional judgement, discretion and the ability to remain calm and effective in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Managing a highly complex and constantly evolving executive diary
  • Coordinating executive operations and information flow across the Chief Executive’s Office
  • Preparing briefing materials, correspondence and meeting documentation
  • Anticipating issues, identifying risks and implementing proactive solutions
  • Coordinating domestic and international travel, events and stakeholder engagements
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships across government and key external stakeholders
  • Supporting executive-level projects and initiatives
  • Ensuring the Chief Executive is well briefed, informed and prepared at all times.

 
Ideal candidate

We are seeking an experienced executive support professional who has operated successfully at the highest levels of an organisation.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience supporting at CE level within a New Zealand government agency
  • Experience working within large, complex and politically sensitive environments
  • A strong understanding of the machinery of government, public sector systems, governance processes and government operating environments
  • Exceptional planning, coordination and organisational ability
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with business systems.
