Regional IT Administrator – 6-Month Contract

Mount Maunganui | Regional ANZ Support | IT Operations & End User Services

Enjoy being the person people turn to when technology needs to work?

This role will see you become the primary IT contact for New Zealand operations, supporting users, coordinating vendors, managing technology assets and helping keep IT services running smoothly across multiple sites. Working as part of a wider APAC team, you’ll enjoy a varied role that combines hands-on support, stakeholder engagement, IT operations and project involvement.

Initially offered as a six-month contract, there is potential for the role to evolve longer term for the right person.

About the Role

Based in Mount Maunganui, you’ll be the go-to IT resource for New Zealand operations, partnering with users, business leaders, vendors and regional IT teams to deliver a seamless technology experience.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a screen all day. Success comes from building strong relationships, taking ownership, solving problems and ensuring users receive the support they need to do their jobs effectively.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your workload while remaining closely connected to a collaborative regional team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing Level 2 onsite and remote IT support across New Zealand sites.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for local IT support and technology services.
  • Supporting laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and associated hardware.
  • Assisting with networking equipment, servers, wireless infrastructure and site technology.
  • Coordinating third-party vendors, technicians and service providers.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, inventory management and disposal.
  • Supporting device deployments, imaging and hardware refresh programmes.
  • Assisting with telecommunications, mobile services and user provisioning.
  • Participating in infrastructure, compliance and business improvement projects.
  • Acting as the link between end users, business stakeholders and regional IT teams.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced IT generalist with a strong customer-service mindset.

You’ll enjoy supporting users, coordinating outcomes, solving problems and building relationships across the business. You’re someone who takes initiative, follows things through and genuinely enjoys helping people get the most from technology.

You won’t need to be the most technical person in the room, but you will be someone who can confidently navigate a broad range of IT challenges and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ideally you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience within IT Support, End User Services, Desktop Support, Site Support or IT Operations roles.
  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft-based environments.
  • Exposure to networking, VPN connectivity and endpoint technologies.
  • Experience managing hardware deployments, refreshes and lifecycle activities.
  • Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of IT service management and ITIL-based processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and self-manage.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, logistics, warehousing or other operational environments would be highly advantageous.

What’s on Offer?

  • Diverse and highly autonomous role.
  • Opportunity to support multiple sites across New Zealand.
  • Exposure to a broad range of technologies and business functions.
  • Involvement in operational, infrastructure and project-based work.
  • Regional APAC team environment.
  • Initial six-month contract with potential for future opportunities.
  • Travel throughout New Zealand and occasional Australia travel

This position is based onsite in Mount Maunganui and will provide support across multiple New Zealand locations. Regular site engagement is an important part of the role, and travel will be required from time to time.

If you’re an experienced IT support professional who enjoys variety, autonomy and being the trusted technology partner within a business, we’d love to hear from you.
