We are partnering with a well-established New Zealand organisation that is recognised for its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability. With a collaborative and people-focused culture, they are looking for an experienced Internal Operations Team Leader to join their Auckland CBD head office on a fixed-term contract.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a broad operational leadership role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in supporting internal business functions, driving process improvements, leading a small team, and coordinating a range of company-wide initiatives.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, this position sits at the heart of the organisation and is responsible for ensuring key operational activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.
You will lead and support an Operations Coordinator while overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes administration, sustainability initiatives, compliance, health and safety, information security, project coordination, reporting, and travel management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and support a small internal operations team
  • Coordinate sustainability and ESG reporting activities
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation
  • Support health and safety programmes and training initiatives
  • Manage domestic travel bookings and associated reporting
  • Prepare reports, meeting agendas and minutes
  • Coordinate projects and business improvement initiatives
  • Support information security and governance processes
  • Build strong relationships across the business and wider stakeholder group
  • Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement activities

About You
You are a proactive and highly organised professional who enjoys juggling multiple priorities and finding solutions.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in operations, administration, project coordination or business support
  • Experience leading, mentoring or supervising others
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Confidence working across multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work autonomously while remaining highly collaborative
  • Experience supporting compliance, audits, health and safety, ESG or sustainability initiatives would be advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills and confidence working with systems and reporting
